Forum: netlabels Subject: a little help?

hello, i've come here as a sort of last chance for my band. we have songs, very big songs, that no other service wants to let us host. we are experimental, symphonic and somewhat mathy rock that goes by the name nonamine. it is quite apparent to us that songs over 10 MB are not welcome in the mainstream... so is there anything i can do here? how do i find a suitable netlabel and go about uploading my bands's songs?

thanks so much for your help
jasmine [nonamine]

No need for a netlabel, just upload into Open Source Audio. Click Contributions in the second level of navigation, then click "How to Upload" under the Audio heading on the left.

"No need for a netlabel, just upload into Open Source Audio." This wisdom should be spread throughout the universe.. seems like there's alot of netlabels that only feature 1 person. sometimes its ok sometimes it seems silly.

I completely agree. Its not that there's no need for a netlabel, but its that it's not always necessary to create a new one. People ought to do a bit of homework and sift through their options before they make this decesion. This forum is a great place to do that. There's plenty of labels options out there with a diverse variety of sound.

check out phlow for info about them all, or my own numia for links to a wide variety of labels.... lest I forget archive.org itself

hi jasmine,

I agree that the open source audio section is always a good option for bands. but if you´re looking for a netlabel anyway, maybe we are a "suitable" one ;).
the describtion of your style sounds quite intresting to me. We released more indie rock and electronic stuff so far but there are two kinda droning post rock bands that we will release in the near future (one of them is really called "jasmin". ;)
so if you´re maybe intrested just send me a quick mail and we can check something out.
>> www.12rec.net << is the place to be.

thanks and good luck!
